I want to root a sn: 1010, firmware 1.5 nook. Where are valid files? Is there anyone I can have a dialog with - on any forum or personal email - who has experiene doing one and can share the pros and cons after the fact?

Can't seem to get anywhere at nookdevs.com and many links are broken. I know "origianal" is not the hot thing it may have been but I like using the ereader and would like to expand the capabilities without going nook color or tablet.

Any help appreciated......

I made and error in serial number and rooting options mentioned at nookdevs.com. I will have to repost after clearing up what is reputed to work with my unit- sn starts with 1010.. With a sn greater than 1003 "softroot" apparenly won't work.
