This feature worked fine at first but now it is stuck on a sample of a book that I didn't purchase. The only way I can get to the book I am actually reading is to open the library and select it (then select "read'). For a while, it was stuck on a book that I read several chapters of, then abandoned.

Im not sure what the proper name of the icon is, but it looks like a book and is supposed to open whatever you were most recently reading. And, yes, I have tried shutting the nc off and back on. Anyone know about this?

You shut off the NC or rebooted it? Is it rooted?

I've not seen this.

I'm sorry but vis a vis the nc I don't know what either of those terms mean. What I have done is shut down my nc by presing the black on off button that's on the upper leftmost outside edge of the device. And it is doing it again today. I opened my book using My Library then closed it by visiting a random web page and when I pressed the Currently Reading icon it went to a short story that my husband was reading on my nc earlier today. Its annoying more than any other reason because it draws me back constantly to books I have decided to stop reading. I don't want to think about them 50 times after I've chosen to move on.

Try holding down the power button until you get a pop up to power down the device (the power button just puts it to sleep). I think a restart of the device will restart the programs and fix the problem.

Hold and press the power button, on the left side of the nook, and there should be a pop box that will ask you if you want to turn off your nook, just tap on power off. After you tap on power off, there should be a message that will say your nook is powering off. Just to make sure that your nook is turned completely off, press the nook logo (the n logo, like a horseshoe icon) then there shouldn't be anything appearing on the screen. Then, hold and press the power button again for about three seconds and there should be something on the screen that says, "touch the future of reading". That is how you reboot your nook. That is how you power cycle your nook.
