The first day i got my nook i set up a password and i have horrible memory, so is there anyway i could disable the password and just go back to the slide lock. ?

If you forgot your password the only way to fix this is to reset the device to factory settings.

Refresh the factory setting of nook can be horrible some time. Boot it with ISO 2.5 the o to passwords tab in the settings, chose option delete all passwords. Then reset the factory settings. It will work surely.
