The main reason I got mine was because I like to read at work during lunch. A regular book is much more bulky, so I would leave it in my locker instead of bringing it home every night. And there have been times when I finished the book I had at work, and would have started another if I'd thought to bring it with me. Now I don't have those "problems"!

I spent yesterday afternoon downloading Calibre and reading about how to save and convert website text, so now I'm looking forward to reading more than just books while I'm at work.

I'm tickled that the software seems to be capable of "fiddling", so maybe some of the computer geeky types will be able to find even more things for the Nook that will be useful.

Also check out my demo of instapaper, works great for bookmarking things to grab later and conversions work well. nooktalk.net/how-to/view-web-pages-on-your-nook I hope B&N will open it up for software. Problem is locking down that AT&T cell connections first so people don't browse the web for "free"

Just got my nook yesterday as a birthday gift from my girlfriend and I'm pretty pleased with it so far.

I had one hiccup today when I was moving some pdf and open epub documents from my PC to the nook. The screen froze and the charging light stayed on even after I disconnected the usb cord. The power button didn't fix it but removing and replacing the battery did. Hopefully that was an aberration and not indicative of a bad unit so early in the game.

I still haven't figured out the trick to getting my jpg pictures to show up as a screensaver. Apparently just dumping a jpg in the folder isn't enough.

Well, I've never had it lock up like that. Next time just hold down the power button for 10 seconds, that might work as well. See this FAQ entry on the screensaver, you do have to reboot after you put the files in place. nooktalk.net/using-the-nook/how-do-i-cre...allpaper-screensaver

I did not find any problems with my nook and its always doing so far so good.I can say that most of my nook impression is probably good.
