I just purchased a nook tablet for my wife for X-Mas. Attempted to connect to my home wifi hub / router. First I was told that I need to talkwith my ISP provider. I explained to the (lacking knowledge) BN expert that my ISP provider has nothing to do with a local LAN (hardwred / wifi). Then the BN expert tried to ivade the issue by telling me the problem is with my WEP speed, I explained to the expert that WEP is a security coding algorithm, the BN expert then told me I was wrong and the WEP is the communications speed setting. I asked for a supervisor, the supervisor said they would contact 2d level help and get back to me that same day, of course I never received and email or phone call from BN.

I called in again and asked to look up the file by the SN, this BN expert told me (after a 10 min. wait that ther was no record of my call!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I called back a third time and support was unable to determine why the nook will not connect to wifi. I was finnally transfered to Candence (who happened to be the supv. I spoke with earlier), she said she handed the issue off to BN 2nd level support and they were suppose to call me or email me, neither of which happen

I'm no fan either. The folks in the store may actually be better.

There are some devices that have incompatibility with others (certain mac with certain router, etc) but make no sense to me why this happens.

i'd put your device back at normal settings and try WPA, do a "forget network" in settings, then restart nook. Restart your router too just to be sure.

These are general things to try in this case of course, not specific help - sorry
