TOPIC: nook is frozen?

nook is frozen? 4 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
So I was going on a long car ride today and brought my nook along. When I went to turn it on I noticed that there was a question mark where the battery indicator is. I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. It's just stuck on the wallpaper. I tried pressing the power button, holding it, and nothing. When I got home I took the battery out, hoping that it would reset itself and nothing. It's not flashing or anything. It's not responding to anything I do. I have it on the charger now, hoping that once it gets a good charge it'll start responding again but I haven't even used it from the last time I charged it so I don't really think that's going to solve anything. Has anyone else had this issue? What do I do?!

I'd try just plugging in while the battery out, should work.

Good luck!

This happened to me today as well. I just did what Mark suggested and it works fine now.

not sure if i should post here, but admin can move if not, anyway, i had my nook since january and all of a sudden last nigh was my 1st major issue that i wanted to throw it.
it started about 7/8pm where i couldn't get it to load right, i wouldn't open any books.
yes, i tried shutting it off as that for some reason seems to always fix any issues. then about 9pm, i got a black line thru my alice in wonderland screensaver, then from there, was bad...it wouldn't open any books, then it wouldn't load, correctly, then it just kept trying to start up, i would shut it down and i would get the same think over and over. , so i let it go overnight, then this morning, i finally got it to come up, but when it did, it unregistered itself and i had to reregister it all over again, i lost my screensavers and my personal wallpaper. i mean it was like starting from scratch, except for the books, thank goodness.

now i noticed this weekend it acting odd, when i downloaded this ebook, but it was wierd becuase i couldn't get the book to open no matter what i did, never experienced it before. The book was odd also as it looked like a pdf book, but it was an ebook. i was a paranomal book, i paid like $2 bucks for it, but never got it to open, so i just sent it to archive and deleted it from my library.
it almost was like the book harbored a virus, if that is even possible.

so that is my 1st problem with the nook

My Nook froze on me. I called customer service and I was told it was a very easy fix.
I was instructed to remove the back then remove the battery. Plug the Nook into the charger. This will reset the Nook. From there you can reinstall the battery.
The person I spoke with explained that the Nook becomes frozen and completely drains the battery so it need to be reset then to allow the Nook to fully charge.
The process was very simple.
