I just got a new Nook Simple Touch for Xmas. Worked fine initially but now I have trouble unlocking the device. I try to slide the lock and nothing happens. Call support but ended up having to go to the store last week. When I got there though it was working again. They did a full system restore.

Now again last night the Simple Touch would not unlock again. Went back to the store again today. This time they guy tells me to turn off the Nook (power off) at least once per day.

Has anyone experienced any issues with not being able to Wake up the Nook from sleep mode?

Nonsense. You should not need to power it off daily unless something is wrong with it. I haven't used my simple touch a ton since last OS update but NEVER had this happen. I would go back to the store and ask for an exchange. No device should require you to restart it daily and if it does it's not worth your attention. The people in the store are only somewhat useful at times.

I also purchased my Simple Touch in December and last week I also started experencing problems unlocking it. Tonight, it has frozen completely. Now...not only can I not unlock it, I also cannot power it off.

I have been turning off the nook every day now and no long have had an issue since then but I agree that this doesn't make sense.
