Battery problems after rooting. 2 Years, 2 Months ago

Has anyone who rooted their nook experienced battery problems? I don't know if it's the rooted device or a coincidence that it's happening now. I rooted the nook on Sunday/Monday on Tuesday I was playing with the new features, which I really dig. Last night I plugged in my nook with 1% battery power left. This morning (0700) it was fully charged. I've been at work and shoveling snow today so no time to read. I've woke it up once to show a guy at work the rooted menu (his daughter has a nook). It is now about 12 hours later and I't at 30%. That's less than a day per charge, that's not good.

Wifi is off and Airplane mode is on. It has been set up like this all day. I have to say, as much as I love the features with the rooted nook if this is going to be the case I'm going to have to go back to the stock device (and hope the old battery life returns with it). And I'm going to have to do it soon.

Any advice?

Haven't noticed this myself. The only time I saw something similar was when I used WIFI locker and wifi just stayed on, drained it pretty quickly. If wifi is off I get normal battery life.

So two things. One if you have the wifi lock app running you'll always have the radio on - big battery killer. You'll only be able to use it for 3-4 hours probably.

If not, it could just be you are enjoying the web browser and trok too much and chewing the wifi that way.

I don't think anything about the rooted firmware would affect battery life otherwise...

So did you lose all your bookmarks and highlights, etc when doing the softroot too

It seems to have righted itself. I noticed that sometimes if I put it in Airplane mode using nooklauncher it doesn't take. I have to go to the main BN screen to take off Wifi and put it in airplane mode.
