Once I took an eraser to the contacts on my SD card and got it seated properly, I have not had a problem with locking up. The little keep for the SD car has to slide to lock the card in place. If it isn't locked well, the card will cause the device to have ALL SORTS of problems........

So my advice from my experience: Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser and make sure the card is locked down really well just to make sure.

Thank you so much. I've had it frozen before but the usual stuff did not work.

I had mine sitting here next to me with the screen saver running. I looked down a little later and it was on my current book page and never went back to the screen saver. I picked it up and turned the page and it locked up on "Opening Your Document". Someone mentioned that the lock up can deplete the battery. That happened to me a few days ago.

Last night I went to sleep reading my nook and when I woke up it was on the cover page of the book. It took me quite a while to get back to normal after that. I had lockups galore and when it would work I would turn pages quickly to get back to where I was and it would lockup after several page turns.

Very strange!

Hello,
My Nook tablet screen was frozen for hours and I was at my wits end. I found this site and your suggestion worked!!!. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was about to return the device to BN for a refund and you saved me a trip to the store. I am also happy to have found this forum.

My Nook's been frozen for three straight days now. The suggested solution didn't work in my case. I also tried the other solutions suggested in other websites to no avail. What alternatives do i have left?

Do you have an extra SD card installed?
