wi-fi connected but unable to go online 4 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, I just got my nook yesterday and am having some issues. I got it at my parents house and was able to connect to there wi-fi and download my first book with no problems. But now, since I have been home, I am able to connect to my wi-fi, but when I go to go online or to shop for a book..it says..network unavailable. But it says wi-fi connected. Any suggestions?!! Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Very irritating. Can hardly see what books are available. Don't know if its a network problem, or if Nook just has issues that make it so pathetically slow. Regardless, this needs to be addressed.

It could be the BN servers are getting hammered. If you bring up web sites on the browser do they work ok?

It's working fine for me now. But they probably have load balancers and proxies so we may not be hitting the site the same way.

Go to Settings/Device Info/About Nook Color. What is the Software version?

If 1.0.0 update to 1.0.1

If 1.0.1 you might need to "forget the network" you have saved. Go to Settings/Wireless and pick your network and select "forget"

I have the nook 3G/wifi. Not the color. Currently have the latest update, 1.5. I've never tried using the browser.

I heard the B&N site was having issues.

I'd try to visit a web site on the browser just to make sure the device really has internet connectivity.

I have the Nook 3G plus Wi-fi as well. I went to the B&N store today to buy a cover and asked them about my issues and they said that the server was just way overloaded yesterday and to try it again later today or tomorrow. I haven't tried using the web browser yet, but I did turn off the wi-fi and used the 3G to shop for some more books.
