TOPIC: I can't see an ebook on my nook that I downloaded
#2831
I can't see an ebook on my nook that I downloaded 3 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I am new to the whole adobe editions thing. I successfully downloaded adobe editions using my PC and can see it on my nook. I also borrowed a book from my local library and successfully copied it to my nook by dragging it to the nook icon (library) on the left side of the adobe editions screen. I can open the book in adobe and read it there. I can see it on my nook when I look at it on my computer as a USB device. The pdf of the book went to the adobe editions folder. After I ejected the nook from the computer then look in my nook library, the ebook I borrowed is not there. I read that moving the file to the documents folder shoudl solve the problem. I tried that and still have no success. Any suggestions? I really want to be able to read library books!

I'm assuming that your Nook is authorized within ADE.
ADE should send it to the correct location on your Nook, you shouldn't have to move it.
Try putting it back where ADE originally sent it, then turn your Nook completely off and reboot.
Are you using version 1.5?

Yes I have version 1.5.0 software and my nook is authorized. I have done it both ways leaving it where adobe editions put it, moving it to the documents folder (which was suggested elsewhere here with someone having the same issue). I have deleted it from adobe and the nook then rebooted etc. Still no ebook in my library. I should say what came before all this. At first I tried to do this with my mac. The mac never recognized the nook. One trouble shoot was to switch to the PC (lucky I use both). First, delete all adobe edition software from the nook, then unauthorize noon, reauthorize nook and reinstall adobe using a PC. After I did that I was at first thinking yay it works! The PC adobe recognised and initialize the nook, I was able to drag the ebook to the nook no problem and the file was there when I checked the nook in USB mode. BUT it is not there in the library. Clearly I am getting frustrated that I can't get this to work. I am a computer savy person usually, so this is driving me nuts. The reason I bought the nook over the kindle was the ability to read epub books in addition to B&N books. I read A LOT and both buy and borrow library books, so am hoping I can get this working. Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have.

Hi Karma, I've downloaded lots of library books no problem. However, today I downloaded a library book and cannot see it on my nook. When I plug the nook into my computer, I can see it sitting on the nook drive but when I unplug the nook, I cannot find my library book. Sounds like you and I are having the same problem. I wonder if something went haywire on the B&N end.

When you sideload a book to the nook, you need to look in 'my documents' on the nook, not in the B&N library...go to 'My Library' and then 'Go to My Documents', and then 'Check for new content'. They are in the same place as the User Guide and such.

Thank you!!! I feel like a fool to not have figured that out! You are the first who said anything about having to go to the documents folder in the library! Its funny as when you search using the search function on the nook to the title of author it does not see it either--I realize now that is because it is stored as a different file name. Such a simple answer and there is my book. THANKS!!!!
