Got a Nook Simple Touch for Christmas. All was well, until it upgraded the software version to 1.1.0. Now when I plug the USB cord into my PC, the "Available storage" section of the Device Info screen is grayed out, and the "NOOK" device no longer shows up as a storage device on the computer. Instead, I get two generic USB storage devices, but neither one can be opened or written to. I did an "Erase and Deregister" to get back to 1.0.0, and all was well again. I don't know if the first time it upgraded to 1.1.0 was just a bad load or not. Anyone else experience this problem? Thanks.

PS--the Quick Start Guide and User Guide also disappeared from my library during the upgrade. Both were restored after the Erase and Deregister.

I have learned through experience that some of my other applications interfere with my PC recognizing my Nook memory. My worst culprit is my HP Printer. I now disable it when ever I hook up the Nook Color.
