TOPIC: Bible for nook?

Bible for nook? 5 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
My nook gets shipped tomorrow and I've been hoping to find a good e-Bible (or whatever they're called). Would love to hear if anyone has one that's good, particularly an NIV translation. Some of the reviews I read were saying the e-book versions of Bibles were hard to look up chapter and verse. This is the one I'm looking at: Zondervan NIV Bible @ BN but from all the reviews, it looks like it doesn't unlock.

Any suggestions?

Just contact support and wait

I read that Tech support knows about the problem and is working with the publisher to fix ASAP. Personally, I'd just buy it and wait (but not be happy about it)

I'm so addicted to BibleReader on my iPhone with the cross-linking, etc I don't think I can take a step back on Bible study with the noon (or Kindle for that matter).

If you purchase the NIV you might try it buying it from another site. It may unlock then if you could find an epub version. I would try ereader.com or Fictionwise or Sony's ereader store. We know for certain the the B&N version does not unlock on the nook. They really should remove it from their site though until a Nook friendly version comes around.

I guess BN just wasn't ready but ... seems there is way too much of this. I suspect we might all be happy in 4 months but right now I feel like a beta tester.

I assume this book probably won't work in any Adobe ePub format if a publisher issue, not just nook....dunno.

Yeah, I do have a regular old-fashioned Bible made of paper, so I suppose I can handle waiting until something gets worked out with it. I think I had found that Zondervan NIV version on a different website as an ePub and I'm pretty sure I remember reading a couple comments that that version wasn't unlocking either. Oh well. I still don't have to worry too much cause I've still got a couple more days until I get it. I did just get an email today promising it would be here by Christmas Eve, so that makes me happy. I don't mind too much being in the beta phase - it's my first e-reader so I don't have any other versions to compare it to.

In the interim you could download the free KJV epub version from Manybooks.net or gutenberg.org. That would be better than no Bible on the nook in the interim.
