With the arrival of the nook Tablet nook owners were fortunate to get better support for video - and for Netflix customers that means a new app!  

If you have a nook Color you'll need to make sure you are on the 1.4.1 version of the nook firmware and download the free application from the nook shop. nook Tablet users started with 1.4 and this was a supported feature "out of the box"!

You do need to have a Netflix subscription, which is a pretty good deal at $7.99/mo for unlimited movie watching. I've used it for years and really enjoy the variety. If you don't have a subscription try it out  Netflix for 30 days for FREE by clicking on our special ad.

Best with nook Color or nook Tablet? Well there is one important distinction here. My understanding is that since the nook Color has less processing power it uses the 480p stream (scaled to nook screen) instead of the 720p stream. You might think that's a big deal - and it is on a 50 inch plasma screen, but on a 7 inch screen I'd argue it's pretty hard to tell the difference. Something to think about if you are trying to decide which to buy or whether to upgrade.

Once you've added the app (built in on nook Tablet) click to launch it and put in your login information. If you are going to sign-up use the link above for a free trial otherwise you'll have to pay for the first month.

If you've seen the latest interface on Android or iPad/iPhone you'll notice the nook is just like those versions. I think the user interface is more responsive in the nook Tablet, but it works just fine on the nook Color.
