We've had a lot of questions on how to load books on the nook from other bookstores. Do you need an Adobe ID first? Can you do it from multiple computers? Should you manually transfer the books to the nook?
I think the ability to load non-B&N content on the nook is the #1 feature for me. ADE is the closest thing to a standard in this world of copy-protection and it seems to give e-reader owners the most flexibility. Using Adobe Digital Editions is the key to using non-B&N purchased content on your nook. It's quite easy to setup and get books on your nook. This video takes you through the configuration, book download, and transferring process.
I've put together a short video that details the exact process to configure ADE and load a book from Overdrive or Kobo onto the nook. I hope you find it useful!

This, combined with the video, worked for me! Now I can borrow ebooks from my library. Thank you.
I just got my nook and was freaking out because I couldn't get this to work.
You saved my life.
Now I can read my ebooks from the library on my new Nook!! Yipee!
PS If you "aren't activated" make sure you have all email accounts (B&N, Adobe, Library Card, etc) the EXACT same. We ran afoul of that problem.
Happy, happy nook owner
