• The button for font changes in book reading is a small caret by page number.
• Video support via Flash player.
• Shop enhancements are nice and it runs faster (to me).

So my impressions are that after an hour of playing this is a pretty solid update. The netflix streaming was nowhere as smooth as my iPad but it was usable. The shop app updates are nice. I know a LOT of people have been waiting for landscape reading and it seems to work well (2 column layout).  

You know, given how some devices I own have been abandoned (Galaxy Tab 7) I think it's great to see B&N hasn't left the nookColor in the dust as with their new nook Tablet on the scene :) 

If you don't want to wait for the update you can get more information and download it on the B&N site here.

If you have a rooted device or sideload apps you should wait before applying this update as B&N has closed sideloading. I think this is a huge mistake - but hopefully you'll be able to root this version soon and bypass that restriction.

why is the NETFLIX APP (an actual working one - that does not require rooting or hacking) for the Nook Color, only available at the BN store? (cannot donwload without a credit card) which also applies to all books and other items they claim are FREE.

seems the only place you can find a worable Netflix APP for the Nook Color, is thru its own store (BN) which requires you to have a credit card number (even though its supposed to be a free App). Someone should download the FREE APP and post it someplace, just to tick BN off and wake them up that such an app should not be restricted to just their site! (note: Netflix itself lets you know about the APP available but then directs you to the same BN store.

I would also like to know how to save to my SD card. Also, when I download apps like games, the Nook tells mje not enough space and I have to archive some apps from my home page. Why? How can I drag or place these apps onto my sd card? Thanks. Paul

I like the nook very much, but there are some points, I just can't understand. Maybe I'm not intelligent enough, because I'm just a German engineer, but here is what I think is somewhat strange.
1. Whenever the keyboard appears on the screen, there are not arrow keys?? Who wrote that SW???
2. What is the reason for being not able to install apps from the android marked?? Greed?? Does B&N really believes it is possible to stop the computer freaks from finding a way to hack the nooks until it is possible?? And how much of your resources you're willing to spend for a constant try to keep up with them??
3. Is there any logic reason for the non-existence of a "back" cursor in any of the menus, or a end application button??

I could probably write several more questions here, but I'm more than happy if I get decent answers to the above.
