Read an e-book week? Another CRAZY government holiday? No - it's a week to push e-book adoption and get some real deals.
NEXT WEEK - For one week only, publishers, authors, and resellers will offer thousands of original ebooks for free and at deep discounts to encourage book lovers around the world to try out e-books. Given the crazy price war going on with e-books, and the 'up' then 'down' price changes at B&N seems like a good time to highlight e-books right?
How can you get involved?
- Check the site for deals and buy!
- Grab all the free e-books you can.
- Use twitter? Use #ebookweek in your tweets on what you read, etc.
- Talk to your local librarian about the importance of e-books and your desire to use them on your e-reader!
- Show a friend your nook, spread the fun.
You can read more at the e-book week website and this Huffington Post background piece.
Happy reading!

When I wrote this blog the ebookweek site read Kobo would offer "free book" - not a percentage...
Oh well! Kobo has great deals all the time and I won't fault them - or the other person :)
"The coordinator of the website www.ebookweek.com incorrectly advertised the Read2010 promotion as providing a 100% discount. This discount should have been listed as 10% off. We apologize for this inconvenience. !
I'd agree Bob, the deals listed on the site changed once e-book week started (e.g. free book at Kobo)
Like the other person said it's $1.50 off
